Stephanie Long grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, where summer hiking and rafting trips in the Appalachian Mountains fostered her passion for the outdoors. After receiving a BS from Dickinson College she traveled to Taiwan, where she taught ESL to elementary school children for four years. During her time in Taiwan, she grew to love the challenges and joys of working with elementary students. Since returning to the US, she has worked with at-risk youth in outdoor therapy programs, guided cross-country adventure tours, and volunteered to teach rock climbing to children with disabilities. She is thrilled to be able to share her love of nature and the outdoors with the students at Montessori Community School through GO and Outdoor Classroom. During her free time, Stephanie enjoys rock climbing, skiing, reading, writing, cooking, and playing piano and guitar.
