Description
The Extended Day Support Teacher’s role is to work with children who are in their care. They are directly accountable to the classroom teachers and work closely with them to provide a warm, caring, and safe environment for the children.
Pay: $14-$16
Hours: Part Time: Mon – Fri, 3 pm – 6 pm
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervision of the children in their care at all times
- Ensuring that all children are released to a parent or authorized adult at the end of the day
- Documentation of all incidents and accidents
- Developing and implementing lesson plans for the Extended Day Program
- Works in cooperation with all other teachers to ensure the smooth operation of the program and the sharing of common spaces and resources
- Ensuring the classroom is cleaned and prepared for the following school day
- Adheres to and supports the schools mission, vision, and goals
- Respects the confidentiality of all MCS students, families, and staff
- Punctual for all shifts
- Adheres to the guidelines and procedures established in the MCS staff handbook

Montessori Community School of Salt Lake City is a private school that has been operating since 1985. The school has a maximum enrollment of approximately 220 students in the academic session and about half the enrollment in the summer. It is located near Foothill and 1700 South and school hours are 8:00 am – 5:45 pm, Monday through Friday. Requirements
Provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 upon commencing employment (reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis for exemptions to this requirement in accordance with applicable law)
Should be able to meet the physical requirements of the job (i.e. squatting, sitting, or kneeling on the floor when necessary for assisting students, giving lessons, maintaining the environment, providing supervision during recess in all weather, and maintaining supervision of students at all times)
Should be able to lift up to 55 pounds
Experience working with children
Enthusiasm and desire to work with young children
Ability to pass a background check through Utah Child Care Licensing
