On Thursday, November 5th our Lower Elementary, 3rd Year students will have the opportunity to learn about the Navajo way of life at the Deer Valley Navajo Rug Show. For more than fifteen years, the Montessori Community School has sponsored our Navajo grandmothers through the Adopt-a-Native-Elder Program.
Give the gift of reading this Holiday season. From November 2nd - 6th a beautiful book fair display will fill MCS' lobby. This is the perfect time to order and stock up on fabulous gifts for your own student(s), family members, friends, and even grandparents. After all, the holidays are right around the corner! If you are unable to attend the book fair here at the school, you may purchase books through our online fair . Please share this with family and friends as well. We hope that the presence of a PSA Team will continue to help facilitate conversations between parents and the school, and to create events throughout the year that give us an opportunity to get to know each other, and have some FUN! Sign-up outside of your student's classroom. Childcare will be provided, however, you must sign up in advance. This is a really great night full of insight regarding the education of your child in relation to Montessori Philosophy. Don't miss out! (Your attendance can go toward Parent Volunteer Hours).
Winter is just a season away. Please keep in mind that all students participating in the Winter Sports Program this year will be REQUIRED to have helmets and goggles and there will be no daily rentals at the resort. Montessori Community School will be holding speech and language screenings Thursday, September 10th. The screenings will be a general, brief measure of your child's speech and language skills in order to determine if further speech and language evaluations are needed. Screenings are appropriate for students of all ages.
Please return form and check made payable to Let's Talk should be submitted to MCS by Wednesday, September 9th.
