Children of Ethiopia Education Fund

A message from Robyn Eirwata-Buchanan

For many years now the non-profit arm of the school, Montessori Educational Foundation (MEF) has paid for the education and supplies of several girls in Ethiopia, through the organization Children of Ethiopia Education Fund (COEEF).

The main reason that this charity gained our attention was the fact that many girls in Ethiopia never have the opportunity to attend school. With our support, several of our sponsored students have completed high school and gone on to college.

We are currently supporting three girls:

A fundraiser is being held locally on September 10. We invite all who are interested to attend and support. Included below is a message from COEEF:

Dear Friend of COEEF,
More than 350 impoverished girls, sponsored by Children of Ethiopia Education (COEEF), desperately need our help in order to continue their education. The COEEF Board of Directors is once again holding a Fall dinner/auction fundraiser and Ethiopian New Year celebration. The Auction starts September 7. Please go to to bid on the items, which include everything from a vacation home in Hawaii, to framed photos taken in Ethiopia, art, jewelry, camping equipment and home decor. You also may make a donation. The auction will run from September 7 - September 10 at 8:00 pm MST. Please be generous. Our goal is to raise $10,000-$15,000. These traditionally have been COEEF's biggest annual fundraisers. This year, are once again sponsoring an online, auction as well as our in-person fundraiser to ensure that we honor our long-standing commitment to our students who are working to end the cycle of poverty and social injustice. If you have any questions, please contact Rick Egan, COEEF Executive Director, at This email address is being protected from spambots.
